After many productions for several digital labels (Minimal And Melodies, Ornithopter Records, Schall-Netlabel), after his first appearance on Intrusion with his Mildiou moniker, and after his own first album on Entropy, Zzzzra is back on ZeECc for a first EP entitled 'La Violence'. This one contains 3 new tracks composed by this French genius of dub-techno and 2 remixes by Axs & Area.
No question of violence here, except to symbolize how Zzzzra powerfully and easily pushes the boundaries of dub-techno sound, and liberates it of all stereotypes. The wealth of tracks and subtle evolutions draw on the roots of this style, but we are here in the presence of resolutely modern tracks, with a futuristic vision of music. By combining aspects of both dark and melancholy with powerful rhythms and warm, 'La Violence' follows the way of classics.
Two other artists bolster this fact with brilliants remixes of tracks 'Moment Psychotique' and 'La Violence'. After his highly acclaimed 'Decomposed Extracts' first album, Axs handles as usual specific sound elements from Berlin and Detroit, to add a more dancefloor side to this release. For its part, Area, who has found a place, since a long time now, on labels like EchoSpace, Wave Music, Mathematics, Fullbar or Meanwhile, issues here a totally hypnotic remix, relying on airy pads, enchanting bass and sharper effects.
