'Sedative' is a part of 'Recluse', one of the most intimist project from Mr. Cloudy, clearly an inevitable artist from Russian dub-techno scene. With only three tracks, he creates here a solid atmosphere with very light sounds and emotional grooves. Directly in the way of his previous releases for Millions of Moments, this new EP gives place to long, repetitive and hypnotic tracks but with an inimitable force and energy.
First of all, go on 'Control Loss', a slow and heavy piece of dub and appreciate the delicate efforts, the subtle changes and evolutions during more than 8 minutes. The second track, entitled 'Collage', benefits from an old-school and anagogic processing and goes beyond limits of minimal music. Finally, the eponymous 'Sedative' track gives more color to this release. A perfect use of filters and the chords combinations go on and on until that listeners have been completely bewitched by irresistible and logical gimmicks.
So, Mr. Cloudy produces here one of the masterpiece of his discography and it's a good way to discover or to confirm that he is an artist resolutely forward-looking and unavoidable for all dub-techno fans.
